Does the C710 benefit from being amped at all? I love the sound I get from it, and would like to take one step further. I do plan on getting full sized cans later on, but I've decided I would probably rather get an amp first since I can use it for both my IEM and [future] pair of cans.

if it does it would probably prefer something warm to calm the uppers. it certainly gains very little from my icon mobile unlike its big brother.

The C710 are very sensitive and easy to drive to begin with so I hadn't really even considered amping them. I did do some quick amped/unamped listening comparisons nonetheless and didn't really notice any improvement. It was only a quick comparison, but if there are any benefits for the C710 from amping, I'd say they would have to be very subtle. For amps i tried both the XM5 and the Headroom Mirco Amp. I say save your money for the headphones and wait on the amp until you know what those headphones will need.
