Hey,

I was interested in buying a C555ES to have modded with SACDMods, but can't find any sites in Canada to buy it from. Any help would be much appriciated!

Best bet is to check the source forums on this site and keep an eye out on Audiogon. They don't come available very often and certainly go quickly. Took me about 2 months to secure one and I'm about a week or two away from sending it to Matt for modding. Always a wait!

True enough, but I suppose I'm also having trouble locating one from a US online store, too.

The SCD-C555ES has been discontinued, so there are no stores that carry it. There have been 3 or 4 of them sold for between $500-$550 USD in the last two weeks alone on Audiogon.

Check Audiogon several times a day because even when they do show up, they sell pretty quickly.

No, just that particular model. There are replacements in the wings. There is even a $150 CD/SACD player on sale at BestBuy already. Someone has already posted about it in this forum. Check it out; SCDCE595.
