I'm planning on getting the DT880 pro 250 and maybe the q701 or ad990x in the future. Should I get an amp/dac combo like the e07k or e10 or a stand alone amp like the magni. I know that the magni probably has more upgrade potential with the modi but I want something decent now. Would the DAC from the fiio's make it sound better than just having an amp like the magni. I will be running this out of a laptop.

That's a hard one. I'd probably pick a the fiio as onboard sound tend to be pretty crap. On the other hand, the q701 and dt880 are fairly hard to drive. If you don't really need the small form factor of the e07k, get fairly hard to drive headphones, and plan to upgrade in the future you should probably get the magni and the modi later, after all
 
You can get the hifiman HE-300 for only 150 (or the HE-400 for 300) this weekend. Very good offer. I assure you, you'd be able to sell the HE-400 without a loss. The HE-300 does not get much love for some reason..
