Hi guys!
I'm new into this and I'm looking for a new pair of headphone.
The main use is with iPod/iPhone.
Music: rock, indie, alternative, blues, jazz and a bit of electronic. I don't need the most powerful bass ever.
Type of headphone: portable (possibly collapsible), anyway not big.
Location: Italy (I need something available in Europe)
BDG: <100 $

At the moment my short list is:
1) Sennheiser PX200 II
2) Sennheiser HD 238
3) AKG K518 LE
4) AKG K420
5) AKG K430
6) Koss Porta Pro
7) Marshall major

Which is the best for my need?
Is there any other HP in that price range you would suggest, according to your experience?

Thanks in advance
Francesco

I'm looking for new IEMs. They have to meet the following criteria:
- Will be used for listening to EDM only (progressive house/trance mostly)
- Noise isolation as good as possible (for commuting)
- Relaxed sound signature, wide soundstage, not too heavy on the bass
- Source mobile phone (currently HTC Desire)
- Budget around EUR 99,-
- Should be available in Europe (location Netherlands)

Have been using various cheap IEMs lately, such as Xears, the focalprice ones, and the monoprice MP8320. I liked the sound of the monoprice, but the fit is horrible.
Furthermore I have some Shure SE115s, but I'm not too crazy about the sound. Noise isolation is good though.

I've read around on the forum, but couldn't find too much info on an IEM for EDM (within my budget).
What are your recommendations?

Yes, yes they are. Hippo VB would be another to consider.

Hi,

I have owned a pair of Sennheiser CX200, Klipsch S4 and Shure SE215
So here are my expectations:

 - IEM that has a good amount of bass like the S4 but with more control
 - IEM that has clarity like the SE215
 - Isolation must be excellent as I'm using them
 - Great confort

Source: Cowon J3, sometimes Nexus S
Genre: Hip Hop, Soul, Caribbean music
Budget 50 to 200 euros

Sounds like a good candidate for Westone UM3X.

imackler,

Do you think 445 € for an Westone 4R, with taxes and shipping, from an westone authorized seller a fair price ?

I'm going to europe in july, and was thinking to buy them there, i contacted westone and the only authorized seller was with this price. Is this an absurd price or equivalently, would I find in US an authorized seller with much cheaper price?

If I don't get it now, I'll probably wait ~ 1 year and something till I get the chance to go to US, so if it's not so big the diference I will probably buy it on Europe, but still I only know the price @ amazon, which is about ~ US$ 450, but I saw it for about US$ 400 sometime ago.

You can get it for $400 now in the US right now. It is that price at Earphonesolutions w/ coupon active20. 445 euro is way too expensive.
