Buying my first quality headphones please help.

I'm not seeing these e500s at 270

etc. I checked froogle and price grabber also.

I see them on ebay for close to 300 but I'm a nervous ebay buyer. I've gotten ripped off once, and got non authentic cheap chinese clones of products before too.


Also one again can anyone point me to a good attenuator since the included shure one seems to suck?

Edit: Also are the e500s really the exact same drivers as the 530s?

Does it have to be IEMs? There is a number of nice closed phones you could use too that could sound great without hissing =]

No it doesn't haven't to be IEMS, it was just my understanding that they offer the best in your head crisp quality sound. I also am greatly attracted to their size and case as I'm a mobile ipod guy quite a bit of the time. What headphones would you reccomend that are non iem and in the high end range?

wow. very nice first purchase. i dont have the erhmms to spend that much cash on headphones yet. you are super hardcore. anyway, you should really look for the e500s cheaper than 500. i've seen them for way less. have fun with your purchase
