I had the LG V20 for a little bit now, but I returned it because of the camera. I really like the DAC. Do you think it's worth consider buying it again solely for music if I am able to get it for cheap? One thing i notice about the hifi dac is that it had less effect on my lossless file compare to my mps3 or other compressed. I'm thinking there is a some software effect.

I currently have a Galaxy Note 4 and Fiio E17., the lg v20 sounds clearer and deeper than my note 4 even when not using the hifi dac; the V20 has a wider soundstage than my fiio and I prefer the highs or mids on the V20 compare to the fiio; the bass on the fiio seems more "direct" though but doesn't sound as natural.

You may. Advantage of smartphone is you can listen to streaming, make use of parametric equalizers. (Teac music player)
I am using my LG G6(no Hi-Fi DAC) and it is comparable to my fiio X3 II.

Is there a variant with no Hi-Fi DAC? I am using LG G6 too but it comes with a 32 bit Hi-Fi DAC. My headphone jack sucks. It disappoint me :frowning2:
