testing the v7 vivids pro; major upgrade from the v6 vivids ( yes they suck in comparison)

only thing to notice is ; the v7 vivids does have a slight presence effect

second issue..maybe it's me? the pins on the v7s are very stiff. I had problem putting the v7s in
my composeer 3x, so to avoid using force..i had to use the extra dip8 socket which is included, to
fit the v7s in first, before installing in the composer dac

Yep, same here!
I, too, put them into the extra dip8-sockets first.

It seems like the pins are apart a little too far and need to bend inwards a little when installing.

Yes, I noticed the same thing. The pins might be thicker and maybe attached to the circuit board a fraction wider than with V6, so you need to line them up perfectly on the socket to even have a hope of inserting them.

Hi, repeat my post hoping someone can to reply :

Question to those more experienced than me: would it be more correct to put a pair of V7 Classic in the input slot and a pair of V7 Vivid in the output slot, or the reverse?
My portable amp is Aroma A100TB and now I have a pair of V5i D in the input and a pair of V6 Vivid in the output .

...wonder if the V7 would fit in my Topping D10s without having to flex it like the V6...

Just replaced a V6 Vivid by the V7 Vivid in my Little Dot mk1 with Mullard tubes.
First impression: Stage is much bigger and deeper, separation is better, dynamics too. Very detailed. The Tago Studio 3 is more controled.
Bass is tight, more real. I am really surprised about this cheap combination!
If you are sensibel on highs, take the classic. For my old ears the Vivid in combination with tubes is just right.
Don't need the adapter of the V6 anymore. V7 fits in the Little Dot perfectly without.

One thing is for sure: The V7 makes you hear more than the V6, what's in front of it.

My Golden Brick 😁

Today tried my new V7C dual opamp with some tracks of Katie Melua, Carla Bruni, Sophie Zelmani, Nina Simone, Adele. It suits perfectly with these artists and genres like Vocal Jazz, Blues, Soul and similar... Compared to my V6V: V7C delivers music in a bit softer, thicker, more relaxed, more musical, analogue sounding manner with a little sacrifice in dynamics and expression. Sound presentation became more delicate and intimate, with more natural and true to life vocals and instruments, sound without any harshness. Bass is a bit softer, but with better extension and it is going deeper. All details are clear separated and well defined, but they don't have any highlited brightness or sharpness. V7C sound presentation could be compared to reduced saturation and sharpness effect in photo - you still see all the details, but overall picture now is softer and more pleasant to your eyes, it has a kind of charm and looks more artistic. I would not say that V7C is an upgrade to my V6V, it brings just a bit different kind of presentation. I think I will keep both for different kind of music genres :) maybe some day I will get V7V, but now I'm quite happy :)
