Burson V7 Classic Pro and V7 Vivid Pro - Hi-Fi audiophile solid-state op-amps

whats the difference between the Dual and Single?
A dual op-amp basically contains two operational amplifiers inside, e.g.: one for the left channel, the other one for the right channel (or one for V+ and another one for V-, if balanced signal). It's up to the designer if will choose single or dual op-amps, but most amplifiers contain dual op-amps inside, like 3X GT.

Yes, the SS3601/3602's are also good but I prefer the V6 Vivids over them by a small amount. The SS3601/3602's are clearer sounding with the impression of slightly more detail, but that is mostly because they lean the sound out more compared to the V6's. The 3601/3602's also push the stage out a little, and have reduced dynamics compared to the V6. The V6's are more realistic IMO, but overall both are close enough that it's going to come down to preference.

That said, the SS2590 & SI 992/994's are a big leap over the others in sound quality. The SS2590's are better across the entire range compared to the SS3601/3602's. My entirely subjective ranking would be:

1) Sparkos SS2590
2) SI 992/994
...
...
...
3) Burson V6 Vivid
4) Sparkos 3601/3602
5) Burson V6 Classic. These would be #3 but the staging is too close for my preference compared to the more accurate Vivids.

Both #1 and #2 are larger op amps though, and won't fit in many applications. If the V7's can bridge the gap between the V6 Vivids and SI 992/994's, then that will be a huge deal to me since the V7's have a much smaller form factor.
I wonder how much is the gap in sound quality beetween Sparkos SS2590 and Burson V6 Vivid? 🤔 I'm using Burson V6 Vivid and thinking what would be the best further investment in better opamp 🤔

Given the smaller size, the outer aluminum case / heatsink and the higher bias current I would anytime vote for the V7 Pro. But now, depending on the audio equipment and the actual stage where you'd like to swap op-amps, the sound differences may not be perceived.

My opinion only, but it's the difference between sounding really good (V6) and being totally accurate (SS2590). I've been using the 2590's for a few years and every time I've upgraded my chain the 2590's have scaled with it, never showing any limitation or faults. I'd say they might just be perfect in their sound, but you never know if something is perfect until something else comes along and bests it. I'd love for the V7's to be even better, but we'll see once the user impressions start coming in. Even if the V7's get close then they could be preferred for their smaller form factor, less chance of a short circuit, reduced price, and that they won't void any warranties on Burson devices.

Being the rational person that I am, I ended up biting the bullet for a pair of V7 Vivids and a pair of V7 Classics.

I plan to see how the Vivids sound in place of the SS2590 in the voltage stage, and the Classics in place of the SIL994 in the input stage.

Hi , currently in my Portable Amp Aroma A100TB , I use a pair of V6 Vivid dual connected with a pair of extensions ( the same ones for sale in the Burson store ) .
Are these extensions also compatible to use the new V7 ?

Yes, they do. I just preordered the V7's vivid + a pair of extensions after I had talked with the support.
Great ! Thank you for this information 🙂

I thought the Staccato's were comparable to the V6 classic, just with more sound stage depth and less overall detail. I tried to use them a few times but never stuck with them since their detail was too much of a step down compared to the V6's. They have a smoothed over and slightly fuzzy sound overall, but great texture and decay like the V6 Classics.
