check out the eagle plastic devices knobs from mouser. 450-6015 and 450-7015 are both nice and small and are silver and black, respectively. they appear to be the same knob that ray samuels uses on the sr-71 and the larger ones are used on many of his other projects.

Try part #450-6015, they look pretty nice to me, I got a pair here that will probably end up on a portable amp of some type.

Hey, I built an AD8397/LM6172 hybrid at gain 4 and I have essentially zero noise on the line. The AD8397 is as unstable as it is reputed to be, so be aware. Also, you _must_ do the modifications amb or tangent notes to make the ground channel stable. If you do not do them, you will blow up the 8397 (I have three dead 8397s to prove it). You may want to consider trying the hybrid configuration I have both for the stability as well as for the lower power consumption, as it will provide plenty of current for your IEMs.
