Hi i am having trouble building a nice 2.1 setup. Some of the products that i get recommended are not available in Singapore and sometimes the shipping costs is more than the product. If someone can help me understand what to look out for in terms of the items i want :
 
Computer (via USB) ---> Stereo Amplifier (With Bass control) ---> Subwoofer ----> Bookshelf Speakers
 
 
Please give your recommendations keeping in mind :
-I am a bass lover and listen to trance and occasionally techno amongst other things.
-I need to connect to my computer via USB
-The Amp must have bass control
-Budget $1000-$2000 (try to go as low as possible to $1000)
 
Please help me understand :
-Why a stereo amplifier? i got recommended this but whats the difference from a normal amp ?
-How many watts must i look for in my amp to power my speakers / subwoofer ?
 
 
 
I am interested in what you guys can come up with as a setup, but most importantly your recommendations will give me some brands to look out for. And your enlightenments will help me to understand well so that when i walk into my local audio store i will know what to look for and what to avoid.
