Buffer Length Setting in Foobar

No sound difference, but there is a difference for the volume control. If WASAPI is on, you will have a delay. 500ms for 500ms delay.

Ok thanks guys. I will just keep it at 500ms and see how it goes.

I have mine set for 6000 ms. At the default setting I sometimes got dropouts playing files from another computer.

Mine's set to the highest WASAPI seems to support, 2000ms. I keep it as high as I can because I can get dropouts under heavy disk I/O, such as when my roomates are copying large amounts of files from my machine over our dorm's GigE switch.

None that I've found. I still get bitperfect output since a SS DTS receiver that's on loan to me is able to properly decode DTS data from a WAV file.

I don't use digital volume controls or anything that alters the bitstream in any way. There might be a lag in changing the volume- you'll have to experiment to find out.
