pretty short and to the point, im looking for buds for modern metal.

mostly worried about being able to pump out mids and bass at ridiculous levels.

want to be able to find them for ~100 bux.

really? no one has any input on which buds have the best mid/low frequency response? SQ and punchiness is an issue too... for that double bass pedal.

this will be a just for fun pair of buds.

i ended up getting the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5eb. when i get them, i will post my impressions from out of my soundard and directly out of my ipod with and without my CMOYBB, which should be getting here soon as well.

I reckon the Yuin PK2 ($79) would prolly be your best choice for an earbud at this price range. Paired with a FiiO E5 on bass boost, they provide plenty ample bass for metal.
