Hey, and you're a "basshead" too; admit it

Heh, now that's uncalled for

How many bookshelves do you know can do bass drum hits at ~30hz? Remember this is for home theater too! Lots of explosions and rumbles

I'd go without subs if I had decent floorstanders with at least a 10" 3 way design, which I just may build myself in a year or two.

I do admit I need at least ~30hz extension, hopefully 25hz

Those orchestral bass drums aren't the same without them!

/me puts on the fantasia 2000 cut of pomp and circumstance!
Just kidding, it's 3am here.

I suppose you're right - it gives you the feel of orchestral music. My paradigms only go to 40hz, but they do really well with cello. I think the rating's conservative however.

The monitor 7 might be worth looking into.
The aperion's may be great, but there don't seem to be many reviews of them, eg on audio review, so they may be a risk.

Cool, it looks like they redid the monitor series design. My school uses the monitor 5 from a couple years ago. I enjoyed the sound though I felt the bass was really boomy. I bet your minimonitor probably plays a lot cleaner.

And like I said with the aperions, if you don't like them, you have 30 days to return them and aperion pays shipping both ways so you're not out a single dime
