Budget desktop standalone DAC help

The only reason to avoid it is the risk of something noisy in the computer that it can't filter out but if you're gonna use a computer anyway, might as well try. Maybe it won't be so bad that you can hear it over the fans.
I'm not gaming on this thing so fans are whisper quiet. Case is sound dampening. I've tried my dragonfly red on pc vs my smart phone and can't detect any noise/sq difference. This is secondary listening area/work desk. If at some point I want to move to more detail I'll probably switch headphones and sources. Right now its about convenience and sound for the $.

Because both are known for their SQ in budget dacs and have optical.
Those are 2 things I'm looking for, thanks.

especially due to USB DACs, ie, now they can be affected by driver issue
I've had issues with XMOS driver's before, that's why I'd like to have the option to switch and test USB vs optical.
