Hey i bought the refurb cd780's off of the e-cost sale a while back. The left driver does not play anymore! I was wondering if anyone knew if they were covered by sony's warranty?? I have the warranty card and everything, I was just wondering if Sony honors their warranty since i bought them from ecost. They are also in the refurbished box and i have all the documentation. Can anyone let me know? They were one of my best headphone.... (which is to say better than the V6, Grado SR60, and Koss KSC50)

Yes, Sony will honor their warranty.
I bought the cd780's from ecost also, and had a similar problem.
From the moment I got them, and after ample burn in period, the left driver was noticeaby weaker than my right. I thought of returning them to ecost, but decided to give Sony a call. I really loved how comfortable they are, and knew that I could probably not get a better deal anytimee soon. It just cost me $5 shipping, and after a few weeks, I just received them a few days ago. Seems like they replaced the left driver.
