One of the (many) undesirable effects of Brexit has been to shut off the ability to purchase audio components from the EU. Many EU audio retailers have stopped shipping to the UK now because of the extra paperwork and customs charges when the item arrives in the UK that the buyer will end up paying, and I don't blame them.

Here in the UK we now have a very limited range of audio hardware that we can easily buy. Many of the excellent Chinese DACs like Topping and SMSL aren't available anymore. Gustard DACs aren't available, etc, etc.

Has anyone else in the UK noticed how bad Brexit has been for us?

Talking with a local hi-fi dealer... there has been issues sourcing product since the pandemic hit the world not just the UK.
I've been turned down for audio items so far in the USA, Germany and India all of which had the items but refused to dispatch to the UK. Brexit has certainty not made purchasing outside of the UK easier.

Same issue if you live in the eu and want to buy from the Uk.I am in Portugal, and used to buy alot of my gear from the UK on head fi, ebay and Amazon UK(also directly from some of the hifi stores that tend to have some good deals from time to time). No point considering it at the moment as the documentation and import taxes are a nightmare.

Yep, tried ordering from adorAMA who no longer ship here. Neither do campfire audio and so on. Even the ones who will ship here like custom art will end up cost us more in delivery and import tax. I never used to get much compared to some here but it’s frustrating to say the least.

I sometimes wonder if that was a side ‘benefit’ for the “government”? Don’t want us spending our hard earned abroad after all!

We're on the opposite bad end of the deal. Several orders from the UK got held up in customs, one was returned to the shop and I didn't get my money back. Another order cost me 100 GBP tax and duties for 299 GBP of product. It goes on and on. As usual, everyone gets a royal screwing except for those responsible for making a mess of things.

Roll on that trade deal???. Hopefully things will sort themselves out. At least my bank balance is healthier.😁

What is the state of electronics manufacturing? I am 6 weeks gone on an order from DCS. I got a vague promise of shipping is imminent with more information promised but not yet forthcoming.

Interesting. Germany is a given, but what else is in play here with USA and India?

Adorama in the USA. Cannot remember the Indian premises.
Ordered HE6 se from Adorama for $700 in their sale down from $1700 got to the checkout basket clicked pay and the message "No sales to UK" came up.

ebay has a deal with Pitney Bowes to move things around with up-front pricing and turnkey delivery. I hope that becomes more widespread. I have several fave shops in the UK and it's pretty much impossible to buy from them now.

At least 48.11% of you, I'd say.
