I just got my EF-1 today. Can I break it in by just leaving the power switch on.... or do I have to have the phones connected with a signal passing through?

yeah....I think you're right. This thing is really loud with my Sen 580's. Can't wait to hear it after it burns in a while. I got the volume at about 9:00 and it's plenty for my ears and I'm pretty deaf.
