Hi guys, i am a new comer to this forum and the wonderful world of iems. I just hv a quick question. Hope you guys hv an answer. I recently purchased a brainwavz R1 iem. I am wondering how is its durability of its wires and dual drivers and what do i hv to take note of.

Also, on the 1st day, in my excitment, i dropped my right earpiece on the table on top of 2 envelopes. I am wondering if this will cause damage to any of the dual drivers. I immediately tested the earbuds afterwards and thought i heard abit of simbilance. But after a few seconds all seemed well and the sound was as great as he other earbud. I guess i am over analysing and it may be part of the song or i might have heard wrongly

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks alot!

Nah, don't worry, it will be fine, I've dropped iems from way higher and on way worse surfaces than 2 envelopes on a table. The R1 is actually pretty sturdy.

Thanks that's reassuring. Do i have to specially care for my R1 since its dual driver based? Are the dynamic drivers fragile like the ba ones?

Nah, they are fine. The R1's housings are already filled with a bunch of glue between the drivers, so no worries. I don't say that you should be stepping on them or anything but dropping them by accident (i mean on the ground not on paper on a table) shouldn't be a big problem.

I've used mine for a number of months in the gym.  They have regularly been exposed to a lot of sweat and the cord has gotten caught on any number of things but so far no problems.  I have no complaints with R1 durability.

Hi, have you dropped or hit your driver housing?

You should really give it a rest. It's not like you dropped a pair of thousand dollars one of a kind iems. The R1 is sturdy and won't be damaged by something like your experience. Also sibilance is not what happens when you drop your iems - you should relax and enjoy your music
