Hello,
I have the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 speaker system. I also have the Klipsch external 5.1 decoder box. So from my soundcard I have a Monster Cable Digital Coax going into the box, and from the box I have 3 mini plugs that go into the sub. Now the digital coax, despite it's overpriced Monster label, is giving me good shielding from the PC to the box- but these mini cables going from the box to the sub- are just the plain thin kind that don't seem to have any shielding.
Now I have seen in some higher end cables that they "braid" or "twist" the cables together which by some rule of RF propogation that I have not yet learned, reduces RFI in the cables. Right now I have about 4 twist-ties holding all 3 cables together so it is kind of a long bundle of cords (for neatness' sake). Would it help shield against RFI better if I braid them instead? At most it's a marginal increase, but it wouldn't cost me but 10 minutes of time, so I mind as well try?
