Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 and Pi6 True Wireless Earbuds

Did you find the Pi8s sound better? They get louder but other than that I still prefer the EX's sound, they feel richer, wider, more detailed. The instrument separation and vocals also seem better to us. But of course, everyone is different and there are no good or bad answers here.
I sent my Pi8 in for repair and I got a new, sealed pair. I got a good deal on the Beoplay Eleven's in the meantime. I loved the Eleven and I'm going to list the Pi8's on eBay.

What was interesting to me is I also thought the whole package was better. The app, ANC etc. But the Pi8s are great. I think it's a personal choice.

Just bought a set of Pi8s. Have to say I'm delighted with them. They sound livelier than my wired P9s. Had no trouble setting them up AND - get this - I've managed to connect them via the bluetooth transmitting case to my Chord Mojo2, giving them a bit more bass (and volume, if you want it) - but crucially saving £399 on the PolyMojo!

I am so happy today....

I am with you. They are great, but somehow... I experienced the EX like you did and miss them a little.

I have the PI8 to transition from the Shure AONIC 4 with the TW2 adapter.
There are pros and cons of both but one part for me is the foam ear tips for the AONIC 4 seem to fit better and sound isolate better.
Has anybody tried some aftermarket ear tip replacements for the PI8?
I bought a foam set and sent them back for being uncomfortable.
Thank you in advance.

P.S. I bought a silicone cover for the case which includes a lanyard. See attached.

Hi everyone,
Have you guys experienced or found a solution to these issues?
  1. ANC/Transparency mode imbalance. When taking the buds out of the case and putting in my ears, I often notice the ANC/Transparency only works on one side, the usual "faint wind noise" only present in one earbud and I can clearly hear the ambient sound is different on the left or right side. Usually when I remove the bud on the buggy side and put it back in the ear, it solves the issue.
  2. Switching between OFF mode and ANC/Transparency, there is a delay between the left and right side. Usually the right bud switches mode first, then shortly followed by the left side. Never at the same time. Also there is a "pop" noise occasionally, when switching between OFF and ANC/Transparency.
  3. Buggy wear detection. Often doesn't register when removing the bud from the left side. But even when the wear detection works fine, once I removed the bud from one ear, the music pauses. But when putting the bud in the case, the music resumes for a sec then pauses again. Same thing when putting away the other bud too, music resumes for a sec when putting in the case, then pauses again. Annoying.
  4. Static noise in the left earbud for a few seconds when removing the buds from the case and putting in the ears.
I've read some of these issues being present with other users' Pi8s too, so not sure if a replacement pair would be a solution.

I have noticed something similar with regard to the pause feature. If I take out one earbud, there is a pause, but if I set down the one I took out it resumes.
I thought it was a bit odd but not bothersome.
As for the transparency, I have not noticed what you have experienced; I may not have the same circumstance.

One think I notice though is tha twhen I take the buds out of hte case, tehre is automatic connection to my Samsung S21, but only sometimes is the audio turned on. I figured out that I need to go into the settings and then manually turn on the audio. The call setting is always on.
I think this is a firmware glitch and I have very little faith that it will be fixed as B&W is not famous for firmware upgrades.

Was unlucky today , and managed to drop the case and one of the iem on the asphalt. Got some small scratches. Not an big deal, but still irritating. 😔 Hopefully nothing has been damaged. Using them right now, and they work perfect. At least for now. 😌

I feel for you. I have done the same in the past. Hence why I bought the neoprene case. I have the photos listed a few posts back.

Oh, buy a case and hide those scratches. When I had the Pi8, I bought this case, it's super nice. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807534634789.html. Amazon, Etsy and AliExpress all have cases. You can get a Silicon for much less. ( I sold the case on eBay)

These are on Prime offer for £296 on Amazon U.K. so I’ve ordered a pair as I’m starting to have battery problems with my Sony XM4s.

I’ve previously had Pi3s and Pi4s that both died within a year so I’m hoping the PI8s will be more reliable

Just checked, they come up for £349 or £314 depending on the colour. How can you get it for £296?
