there is a good deal on the denon ahd2000 at present.
My girlfriend likes the bose so i was going to get the denons. If I got an lod and an amp, what difference would i hear from an i-pod?Sorry if this sounds a bit simplistic but i haven`t a clue really.

For me bose triports sound extremely boring. When I compared to them with my Sony v150's at the time ($15 headphones) beyond the shape of the headphones I did not notice any difference. Denon 2000's are extremely fun to listen too, for closed headphones pretty good soundstage, deep bass and ability to listen to any music and get a satisfying experience.

You would need a damn good portable amp to drive those Denons that's for sure. The D2000 are going to sound wonderful when they are given enough juice, also the MarkL is pretty much a must with them.
