A friend has looked at the Bose QuietComfort 25 but is not keen on paying over the odds and has asked me to suggest some alternatives.
Any suggestions for Cans in a similar price bracket but that better sounding\value for money.
 
He needs closed back and listens mainly to rock\pop\dance.

Same price range and also with decent noise cancellation, there are the Parrot Zik 2.0 which seem to be getting good reviews (and also has bluetooth).
 
But maybe the questions is: does he need noise cancellation and how critical is it for him? If not there will be many better sounding alternatives fro the same price, but if yes it will be much more limited as Bose is pretty much best in class for that particular feature.

No he doesn't need noise cancellation as they are for general home use. Closed back would be a minimum I think
