Oh, I know... I was just feeling the urge to be bratty...

However I do appreciate them in theory... I think they will serve a function as a stylish (arguably for the "brand name" alone...) and discreet set of headphones for walking around town...

I spend 90% of my music listening experience plugged in to my laptop which is truly my primary portable rig... and I have had or sampled much better IEMs for use with the ipod. I have used my Shure E2s for most of the past year as my primary choice for airplane duty. I'm still debating a replacement for them.

However the lack of isolation on the bose makes them more appropriate for remaining aware of my surroundings when out and about. I don't expect them to sound revolutionary, but if they are a step above most buds in the sub-$100 category that is the most I can hope for.

Looking forward to the day that people declared it's on a par with other sub100 iems and gives regular bose basher like you a kick in the head (low chance, but what the hell

You don't have to listen to them.. Look at BOSE past track record..High price, average to subpar performance. I doubt their strategy will be different for these IEMs..

Hmmm, you actually appreciate the BOSE IEM before listening to them.

Frankly, they sound like the kind of thing I'd appreciate a lot more by not hearing them...

Well right now it's just a Bose bashing thread. Seriously people whatever happened to making a decision on a pair of cans AFTER you've heard them?

Ok Bose headphones are average sounding, overpriced and have rather average build quality. Comparing to another brand that seems to have a hell of alot more praise on this forum i.e. Grado, the only difference between these two brands is the sound quality, and that is a very subjective thing to be judging headphones on. Bear in mind that ones own opinions can be VERY easily swayed just by other peoples ideas, so at anyone time who knows just how many people are reiterating words of others like drunken parrots.

Some people dont like Bose headphones, fine. I dont like the HD650's all that much but I never go trolling a sennheiser thread because I dont think they're worth the money etc etc.

Grow up people seriously.

I'll take actual sound quality over so-called stylishness every day of the week. That's Bose's trademark: Style over substance. Any member of this forum ought to know better. Based on the price/performance ratio of their other "high-end" headphones, I'll be surprised if they don't sound worse than the Apple IEM's.

I wonder how open IEMs will sound. :/ Well, got to give it to Bose for trying something new.

Hmm, these could be interesting. In my opinion, IEMs are generally good except they lack bass quantity. If I understand correctly, Bose headphones generally have large amounts of bass. Could this be a good match? Maybe*. If I had $100 to blow, I might actually try them.

*(or they could completely suck)

Please refer to logic and history. Comparing Sennheiser to Bose is a bit of a stretch. Bose headphones aren't average sounding relative to pricepoint, far from it. Have you ever owned a pair of Bose headphones?

does anyone know if these are dynamic or armature drivers? if they are armatures, it would be interesting to hear how bose have voiced/tweaked/whatever them. we shall see. maybe these will be good, apparently bose are actually trying to target the audiophile community......

Some things maybe but have you heard a set of Bose 901's I doubt you would speak so poorly. I have used there professional series 901 series speakers and they are nothing short of incredible. No maybe they are not the same sound as $1000 headphones thru a $1400 headphone amp but then again unless you want to spend 20,000 on a home system nothing is.

A set of 901's wth a serious amp for under $2,000 is hard to beat boys! Lets see you entertain 3000 people and make the walls move and the floor shimmy with you headphones plugged in. (High gain wont help here)

How can you all bash stuff you anticipate wont be good. Let wait and see. If they are no good believe me we will all know about it. Maybe they will be the best 99.00 IEMs ever made, maybe not. time will tell not a bunch of egotistical self proclaimed "audiophiles".

Ok, I'm no fan of Bose, I agree the triports are overrpriced, but bashing their buds on the premise that they're overrpriced is hypocritical--all IEMS are overrpriced!!

I love IEMS, I have UE10 PROs and couldn't live without them, but the main criticism of Bose is that considering the materials in their products, they ask too much money.

IEMs are the worst culprit of any of the listening devices--the drivers are made by a limited number of manufacturers--yes, many manufacturers are using the same drivers as their competitors, and the drivers themselves aren't that expensive, especially in relation to some of the prices of these phones--which is why I suspect so many companies are clawing to get into the market--it's a highly profitable proposition. This is the one time when Bose is merely doing what everyone else is doing, but unfairly is being singled out--and they haven't even released their product yet!! It's a bit hypocritical; it's almost as if some folks here define themselves as audiophiles on their ability to trash Bose.
