Recently heard (unknown if true):
I just read this about Boards of Canada's new album (not sure if it's true or not):
"Boards of Canada will be releasing their 3rd LP on Warp Records on
October 11, 2004. It will be a *double album*. The first CD is
called 'Hypercube' and features 17 tracks, all written and arranged by
Mike Sandison. The second CD, titled 'The Sky Above,' features 13
tracks, all written and arranged by Marcus Eoin. The sound in
'Hypercube' is rumored to be heavily guitar-based, with much raga-like
droning and African drumming. It is said to contain several
non-vocoded *vocal* tracks. Alternatively, 'The Sky Above' is said to
have an eclectic mix of psychedelic melodies and bombastic beats,
infused with samples from Mike and Marcus's recent journey to the
world's most beautiful natural parks."
I HOPE it's true. If it is, I can't wait to hear that!
