As per the title, is there any company offering Bluetooth custom IEMs?

Size is not a problem for me. But given the hassle of using Comply eartips, I would love to have a custom wireless IEMs.

Please refrain from commenting about sound quality, I'm frankly not interested in an audiophile discussion. Thanks. :)

There is this: https://www.westone.com/store/music/index.php/accessories/bluetooth-cable.html

Haven't read any reviews for it yet.  Also it's only good if your customs use MMCX connectors.

Thanks for your replies. I find both solutions frankly way overpriced for what they offer. As a temporary solution I've ordere a custom very short cable for my ACS T1s and bought Avantree's Clipper bluetooth adapter.

Considering the average size of custom IEMs I'm quite sure that an all-in-one solution would be possible. Just look at what Earin is doing for an example. If they can pull it off at that size, I'm sure it could be done inside an IEMs. Maybe it's simply too soon but I hope that sooner or later it will come.

The reason I ask this is mainly due to the comfort and usability factor. Sound quality, obviously, but with non custom IEMs I can get that only with Comply foam tips. And those are *slow* to fit correctly, whereas with custom IEMs it takes me a couple of seconds to wear them and fit them correctly for musical bliss on the go.

Was just wandering around with Bluetooth iem and saw this haha I think there are still no Bluetooth ciem available yet but I remember Trinity Audio developing a multi driver Bluetooth iem, completely wireless just like the Eating. Correct me if I am wrong as this was I saw it long time ago haha

I've looked at their website, I've not found anything, except for DACs with BT capability. By looking at the size of stuff already available, I have no doubt that a multidriver CIEM would be possible. I mean, there are 8 drivers units available (or 12, I don't remember). Let's stick to three drivers and you'd have room to spare for BT circuitry and battery. Why doesn't anyone want my money? :D

http://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/custom Did a chat to find out price. 500$. Love to hear some thoughts on this as I want it but dont like being the first with new tech. Im wondering what the competition will be like for companies to just start making BT cords with increased battery life and maybe making the battery replaceable. I saw one link here in asain characters with a BT cord for 400 something. Any others?

Thanks for sharing. This is definitely not what I had in mind but it's a start.

My point remains: there are far smaller form factors that manage to be completely wireless. I hope some manufacturer will try to step in that arena. Although I understand the advantages that UE's solution offers in terms of portability, repairability and battery life (the clip on charge while listening to music is quite clever). On the other hand, from such a solution, I'd hope for a Class 1 device (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Uses) not just for the range extension but for the reliability at close range it brings.

Bragi's new Dash Pro is available as a Custom shell if you are in the US - its like $500.

I use Bragi The headphone as a convenient commute IEM - they aren't half bad, and they maintain connection to each other because they use some other technology for the bud to bud pairing than BT.
Fantastic! It begins! :D

Thanks for sharing!

Edit: and, obviously, it *had* to be available only for North America...

Neither Bragi nor UE support AptX. Sad!

That said, I'm somewhat interested in Bragi since they have internal player (although it is quite limited; 4GB of space and only 4 playlists).

But preload some music and SBC be damned. This could work.

I've tried researching this. SBC at the bitrates affordable nowadays shouldn't differ too much from AptX. It's kinda the same reason why Vorbis, AAC or Opus are better at 96kbps than MP3 but become pretty much equal when you reach 192kbps or higher. IIRC SBC in a modern smartphone goes up to 320kbps.

Nope, 345kbps for stereo material: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SBC_(codec)#Design (although I'm finding reference to bitrates as high as 512kbps in other documents).

I'm somewhat doubtful that AptX might offer something substantial over 345kbps SBC.
On Android's reference implementation the bitrate negotiated is 328kbps since 4.4.

From using Bragi the Headphone with my HTC10 and Sony Zx100, in SBC, I've not noticed much difference in quality compared to other wireless earphones I've tried. I've had H7, AKG Y50, Denon GC20, and Sony MDR100ABN, all with Aptx, and for my use case (commuting), the Bragi match them fairly well. It depends on your use for them I suppose.
