Black Schiit! (Or, our supplier's mistake is your, um, benefit?)

I saw somewhere on this forum where a guy had painted his schiit black... If only I could remember where.

You know....some of the best things in the world were created through an initial mistake.

After these are sold out they'll become collectors items. The prices for them will get crazy. Schitt will take note. I predict black will be an regular option 12 months from now if not sooner.

How limited are we talking? Few dozen, hundred, thousand? Is this a true one time deal, with no chance of producing black again? I'll purchase a stack right now.

It varies by product, but it's in the range of 50-100 per product. If you want black, it's best to move.

To make it totally clear on black in the future: we don't know. There are no plans to ever stock it as a standard, though we may have it available sporadically from time to time. Very sporadically.

Thank you for the reply. I ordered the uberfrost and Lyr this morning. I'm glad to see the first run in real limited numbers.
Will the first run black pieces be distinguishable by serial number? So if someone wanted to reference if it was a true first run in black they would know by the serial #? For example the black Bifrost started at ####### and ended at #######, or are all the serial #s mixed up between black and silver pieces?
Sorry for the pain in the ass questions but I collect a bunch of limited editions, whether it be books, vinyl, photos, and now audio equipment. I figure it can't hurt to ask the person who owns the company.

Thanks again. I'm looking forward to receiving the equipment :)

Nope, we're not tracking by serial number.

If you do decide to introduce black in the future as a permanent option, you should adonize it like the silver, instead of the black powder coat you have now. Its a shame you aren't offering the magni/modi in black, I am looking at getting one at the moment. Its just my computer I built myself, the monitor, the keyboard, the mouse, ect. are all black. I wish the magni/modi would match.
