Because it's a good band in a comparable genre? Christ, it's not like I recommended 50 Cent or something. Or are we only restricted to listening to one genre of music now? Amon Amarth more than fits as a pagan/nordic influenced band, even if they aren't specifically "black metal".

I would tend to classify Silent Stream Of Godless Elergy as Folk Black Metal. I just bought their last three cds. Not really my tastes. I was going by two cover songs they did that were excellent. And these cds aren't bad, just not really what I was expecting.

The OP said he didnt want bands like Mayhem, Immortal (I know darkthrone doesnt sound like immortal), etc... he also said he wanted bands in a similar vein to Windir. Which I dont think Darkthrone is...

Doesnt mean they dont deserve respect, they just dont really fit what hes asking for.

Listen to Antestor's discography, those guys are pretty awesome.

if you want folk you HAVE to listen to Eluveitie, those guys are sick, their new cd "Spirit" is amazing.
