There is a very slight background hissing noise that is coming from my Grace m902, but it only appears in certain instances.
1. USB input from my HTPC and
2. Headphone output (doesn't matter which jack).
Now when I switch to a toslink input and listen to headphones the hiss is gone.
Or if I use the USB from HTPC but go through my speaker setup (i.e., the RCA outputs from the m902) the hiss doesn't appear on my speakers either.
Also the slight background hissing noise when it appears is sensitive to the volume - i.e., the more I raise the volume the louder it gets.
Compounding that, the hissing noise isn't on all the time. If I play music (iTunes) the hissing noise appears. If I hit pause on iTunes, then the hissing noise continues for about 10 seconds or so before disappearing.
Bizarre, no? Any thoughts?
Best,
-Jason
