I know this has been discussed thoroughly, and most just simply suggest binaural.com as a reference. However, I've noticed they're closed down. Another thing I've noticed is that they didn't/don't sell any rock-based music, really.
I'd just like a list (or couple of suggestions) for some binaurally recorded rock-based music. I wouldn't think it's unlikely that someone has made one.
I've recently just listened to a couple binaural recordings that some have done by themselves just walking around and stuff. They have to be the most natural and believable recordings I've heard.
I did quite a bit of research and came up with some results which I'll share, incase anyone in the same boat as I am in reads this:
http://www.weldon-northants.fsnet.co.uk/binaural_1.htm
http://www.core-sound.com/mics.html
http://www.richardberg.net/BinauralRecording
http://www.zainea.com/compilationtheory.htm
and then some places to find some actual sounds done binaurally rather than information (although some may be informative as well):
http://www.krisbee.com/Field%20Recording.html
http://jimtreats.crosswinds.net/MyTr...ural/index.htm
http://www.binaural.com/
My by far favorite of the places that host binaural recordings are these two:
"Times Square" and "Walking up along a brook, kids introducing a bucket to the lake"
Although, the demo of the dogs is rather good too, it has some extra nosie which I find a bit annoying (a little bit of high-pitched microphonics, or so it seems they are, which I'd imagine are from the mics used).
That said, I'm not much of a Dave Mathews Band person, but I read on neumann's site that he had an album recorded using the Neumann KU 100 binaural 'dummy head and mic' set, which would be quite interesting to hear used. I couldn't find the album though, when I tried locating it. Perhaps it hasn't been released yet? I don't know.
Thanks all.
Note: if this is in the wrong forum, mods please feel free to move it. This was the most applicable place I found, so I just went with my better judgement.
