I really love Billy Cobham's Spectrum. I have one other album by him, The Funky Thide of Sings. Don't really like it at all actually. Then I have Mahavishnu Orchestra's Birds of Fire and Inner Mounting Flame. Both are decent and I enjoy them when I'm in the mood, but I'm looking for stuff more like Spectrum.

I suppose I like Spectrum more because there is not really much "jamming out" done by anyone besides Cobham. The intensity of a lot of the guitar-work in Mahavishnu Orchestra really distracts me from Billy Cobham's playing, which is what I care about.

So I'm looking for stuff specifically like Spectrum rather than some of his other work.

I like that album a lot as well. Based on that, I can suggest the albums "Rhythm of the Soul" and "Synergy" by The Dave Weckl Band.

Rhythm of soul has been one of my favourite albums for a long time.
