Biggest capacity FLAC player???

Hello ,
what is a biggest capacity that can be installed into iPod 5.5G?Is it a HDD or flash or some other card that can be put in?Or please can you think about any other FLAC player , which have excellent sound quallity and high capacity?(240GB+)?

Well technically a Sansa Fuze can play FLAC and you can have unlimited storage with microSDHC cards. You can buy 10 32GB cards and have 320GB of storage in an extremely small package.

I doubt anyone would carry 10 cards with them and I certainly doubt they would try and shove 10 cards in the fuze as well lol.

A good option is to get an ipod classic and rockbox it.

If only Rockbox supported the iPod Classic, which it do not...

You can always get an ipod video and put a 240gb drive in it.

Basically, it's a replacement firmware for your (supported!) device that kets you do some fun stuff such as being able to play different formats & organize your music however you want

The latest iPods (the ones dubbed "Classic") are not supported b/c of various technical reasons

Thanks for your advices


Creative will sell soon ZenXfi2 64G for - ? less then 280US$,it plays Flac and has
microSD memory slot.

+1. I'd personally think this would be the better option, especially considering the long battery life + high storage capacity of the Classic. Plus, it's just a small step towards getting an LOD & Amp combo going.

This alternative requires the user to be operating in OSX, as Windows doesn't support Apple Lossless(ALAC). But if you own a Mac, using ALAC is mighty helpful. It converts a FLAC-file to ALAC in a matter of seconds, keeps the quality intact and not only that, it also decreases its size to 40-60% of the original size!
ALAC operates on all iPods and iPhones models, so yes, that way would be his first step towards an audiophile addiction.
