very cool you guys are doing this!
I haven't been a member long enough, so can't "apply".
Just curious does location matter. Do you have to live in the USA or EU?

Is beyerdynamic paying for the return shipping? It would cost me almost $30 to return these tracked to where ever.

And paying a company as large as beyerdynamic to give a free review of their product... Thanks, but No Thanks.

DUNU and other companies not even half the size don't employ these kinds of shenanigans.

I am still new here, but I thought it was a considered a cool thing that V-moda got took so much feedback from the Head-fi community. From one I understand it was a very occausian for a company to reach so directly to their fan base.
I think headphones are growing in popularity. Just check out how the google searches for headphones has been steadily growing for the last 10 years. Head-fi is one if not the ONE head phone community to go if you want to know what audiophiles are up to. Byrer knows Head-fi places in this community.
I think it wasn't for Head-fi, companies like Schiit probably would not have made it so big, or broken out at all.
What else are you going to base your reviews on? Amazon?

I think Beyer is just trying to cozy of to a very influential group of head phone enthusiasts. Will I pay 30$ shipping  to test out some prototype for a few week and a chance to win a free pay. Hell yeah. That sounds awesome.

At second thought  you might be right , In India shipping back will be double of the above sum :(

Yeah, these are very interesting.  I love the Beyer house sound and have been looking at some new IEMs to replace my current portable Amperiors and aging Shure E2cs.

PM sent.

This is definitely very interesting. Of course, we all know how good their headphones are, but it seems their IEMs don't get much talk. If this sounds as good, it could really blow up, especially if it's a supposed flagship.

Also, anyone interested in a frequency response measurement of it if I get one? I'm not sure how well I can get the measurement, but I do have a Dayton UMM 6 measurement mic (condenser), which I've used before to somewhat reliably measure frequency responses of some IEMs.

Agreed.

This and the fact that the OP's user profile is an absolute blank, have me more than a little concerned. No way in hell am I going to send my vital statistics off to a "blank" in a pm.

I think it's time a mod stepped in here and validated this.

The account is a verified sponsor account and this thread made the front page, so I don't see why there would be any worries about legitimacy.

PMed, favorite at $100 is the Etymotic HF5, with a good seal it is hard to beat for the price in balanced sound with fast transients and excellent detail retrieval.

Colour me interested. The best I've hear below $150 is the JVC HA-FRD80. I'd love to give this a go, but I'm in Canada so I'm not sure I qualify.

Edit: what about return shipping? Who fronts the cost?
