Hey guys! I'm new to Head-Fi and mostly new to the audiophile world, and I want to buy some over-ear's. I am looking at the dt 770 pro 80 ohms by Beyerdynamic paired with a fiio a1 for portability and cost. Do you guys think this is a good match up? would the a1 help at all, or should I just buy the 770s alone?

why not get the 32 ohm or even 16 ohm version of the 770s (Guitar Center exclusive) to be safe?

Hope you like sharp highs!

You might consider getting the Soundmagic HP150
Easier to drive then the DT770, and might also sound better (the HP150 that is).

 don't sound as sharp.

You say that as if its a bad thing!

You can buy different pads I believe.

I will allow others to guide you here,as the DT770 is on the very short list of headphones I have owned and hated.
