A friend of mine is going to get some new headphones. He is also going to get rid of his old ones, which is a broken portable AKG (which I could need), but also something more interesting: A Beyerdynamic DT209, which is, as far as I have understood, a pilot headset. This friend is living quite some distance away, and have to send it via mail.
Does anybody have any experience with these, or something like them? Are they worth sending at all, or are they just junk? I think he said they were made in 1985, and claim they are pretty good ("beats all he has heard yet"). He hasn't got very much experience with headphones as far as I know, but still.
He had a data sheet, which is downloadable at this address (PDF file):

Would be fun to have yet another pretty good headphone free (got my K240M by trading away a PortaPro.
