Guys, do I need to replace the whole cord of my dt1350 because around 5% of the inner wires are already exposed?
How can I prevent this?
I saw some music shops that have extra cord but what particular specification of cord is it?

Thank you.

Yes, eventually you should replace the whole cable.
There is no permanent fix or workaround to this problem.

You COULD remove the cable (un-solder it) and sheath the entire cable with paracord or something similar, but this would also require chopping off the plug and adding a new plug and putting a lot of resources into delaying a problem rather than fixing it.
So that's more of a route for DIY mods and customization rather than a 'repair'.

There is likely no clear specification, and any 3-core audio cable that is thin enough to fit inside the headphone cable port will work fine.

Or send it to FAW for a recable with Claire Hybrid. It transformed my T51p...

That's more than the cost of a 2nd-hand DT1350...
Normally I ignore cable recommendations, but this is ridiculous.

Cables that cost more than the headphones to which they are attached are not that uncommon. A recabled DT1350 will get close to SOTA for a portable headphone. You may want to replace the pads as well.

It just depends on your budget, and how far down the rabbit hole you want to go...
