Priced about $50 on froogle they seem to be cheap.
But are they good?
Please compare them to AKG and Sennheiser sealed phones
Is there any difference between DT100 and DT150?
(:Oh and thanks for all your help

The Beyer commercial line of headphones don't really get much attention on here, but I too would be interested in how these headphones are. Someone on here must know.

I tried the DT150 once, quite a while ago, and that was actually surprisingly good. It isn't a DT770-killer, but still a respectable closed headphone.

It's huge and, if possible, even sturdier than the DT770. Quite comfortable too.

Don't know the differences between the DT100 and DT150, though.

The DT 150 extends more on both ends of the frequency spectrum, appart from that there shouldn't be much difference. I'll get one soon for my studio.

The DT 100 was used a lot in studios in the 80's / early 90's and showed up on some music videos in that time (like Womack & Womack - "Celebrate the world"). According to Beyerdynamic there are two versions: 16 Ohm and 400 Ohm, available in in grey and black housings.

DT 150 Specs:

I think I saw the DT100's in the latest Iron Maiden video when they were in the studio (also on the bonus dvd w/ their new album). Kinda cool to see the Beyers in use by the guys in Maiden...

I didn't see them anywhere on froogle for $50. Got a link to that price?

Having seen DT 150 in Sheryl Crow ft. Kid Rock "Picture"; DT 100 in Eros Ramazotti ft. Cher "Più che puoi", in Lil McClarnon "I Get the Sweetest Feeling"

BTW: I DO have a pair of DT 100 8 ohm grey with coiled cable WK 100.00 (bare end) with 3.5mm jack.

I had DT100 about 20 years ago. Look at any picture of studio engineers at work - almost certain they will be wearing DT100. The are bomb proof with very little sound leakage. They are not attempting to address the needs of headphone hifi listeners.

Update:

Seen them probably on a Metallica video. One engineer had them on. Anyway I'm not sure, it was way long time ago...
They were for 50 pounds (not dollars) on Foogle. Sorry FY wrong I ...

According to the fact they were used in studios they should sound quite good.
Does Beyer have a forum where I one you are likely do get the answer right from their specialists (like the wonderful forum of AKG)?

i am buying the dt100's for the aesthetic beauty, pour moi, these maybe the coolest looking cans ever produced...... i'm just hoping the sound coming out of either side is better than a transistor radio.

haha, depending on your expectations, you may come a bit disappointed on the sonic part of the DT100's :P

Very interesting headphone !

Oasis, during their heyday, seemed to have worked almost exclusively with the Beyerdynamic DT-100. Still in production which is another testament to its quality and popularity. I haven’t done a deep dive into the pads, but the sad reality is that it probably uses different pads today compared to the vintage ones, and, well, that’s pretty much the 'norm' when it comes to vintage headphones. It changes the sound, unfortunately. If anyone has the inside scoop on this, feel free to share.

DT100 are quite nice for acapella and podcasts and such. Very realistic voices. I've had a few versions (including 2k ohm version.) I believe they have 16,400, and 2k IIRC

The dt150 is just better across the spectrum for music. With dt100 velour pads even better than stock 150 pleather IMO

Dt480- my favorite with some mods. Just a very unique musical sound. I've tried with many pads, but atm dt100 pads and shure 1540 (not easy to stretch on but can fit)

They are super light! Same with dt150. Vs dt480 (which feels like tank)

I think they're cool :p

Are you saying that the DT-150 sounds better with the DT-100 velour pads?

What pads would you suggest for the DT-100 ?
