Beyerdynamic DT 770 -series

DT770/250 recabled are my favorite headphone for bass-centric music without drowning out the rest of the sound spectrum. The recable helps tame the highs in stock form and leather pads definitely help for comfort/long sessions. A 600ohm'er is probably my next purchase.
I have only owned the DT770/80 before and they do have overpowering bass and a rather warmer sound signature (compared to consumer edition).

That being said, what poster above stated, DT770's are far from neutral. If you need to stick with Beyer, there's a few posters of late who've been touting the DT48 as headphone-god's gift to man--joking aside, it's supposed to be the one broadcasters use and is very neutral. I haven't heard it myself, so cannot comment on the sound, but there's a big thread on here.
