I don't know much about these phones or the DT-660 (72$)! Can anyone fill me in on these? I do know the 440s are open and the 660s closed but that's about it.

The earpads are rather shallow, allowing your ears to touch the inside of the earcups, and for *me* it was bugging me, so I sold them.
Sorta like Grados, a little bit.
Other than that, they have really decent sound, a good deal for that price.

i have had the dt440. comfortable enough, open backed, decent bass and highs. kind of hollow sounding to me, however, i'm not a big beyer sound fan. this is beyers answer to a senn hd555. if you prefer beyers sound over others u will like the dt440

I had the last generation DT-440 and found it to be pretty decent can. Can't say for sure if this one is anything like the older one. Why not take one for the team?
