Beyerdynamic DT 250-80 and ipod

For a while, I had a DT250-80 and used it out of my 4G ipod. I thought it sounded very good. I actually liked them better straight out of the Ipod than amped. So in short, you don't need an amp. Try them out and if you still feel like you want more, you can always add an amp.

Well, iPods have been known for a while to have a stronger than average (for a portable device) power output. Most headphones up to 80 ohm or so work just fine out of the iPod. There are exceptions though... the Sennheiser HD201 for some reason is a very power hungry 35 (or is it 20?) ohm phone, and needs an amp to sound better. But yeah, I mean normally I use my DT 770-80s out of my iPod 5g and they work very well. Those are 80 ohm as well, and I assume they share some characteristics of power-need with the 250-80.

Great deal on those cans, by the way!
