I just picked up a pair of 7506s today. I have DT250-80s and an extra set of Beyer pads but I'm a little apprehensive about putting the Beyer pads on the 7506s cos I'm not familiar with their construction and I don't want to hump them up.
Do the pads on the 7506s just pop off like those on the DT250-80s? Will the drivers be covered with the Beyer pads in place?

Thanks,
Aaron

Yeah, you do need to be careful doing this operation. Go slowly, especially when putting on the Beyerdynamic pads -- they need to stretch a bit to make it over the Sony MDR-V6 driver housing and they're not exactly unbreakable.

You'll also have to remove the foam driver cover from the V6 pads and place that under the Beyer pads. It's glued to the pad, but it comes off with slow, even pressure. Then you'll have to line it up just right under the Beyer pads.

Still, not overly difficult as long as you're careful.

Just got my beyer pads in the mail today. Put them on my V6s as described. Makes the V6 experience so much more comfortable and pleasant! GREAT stuff. Wonderful. Makes long-term V6 listening enjoyable.

I first tried the Beyer pads on my old Sony MDR-85s. They fit, and so comfy. Mucked up the sound pretty bad, but looked very cool. (These are an old model of open phones, all black and sleek, with 40mm drivers and the ear placed very close to the pads. The Beyer pads took the ears too far away.)

Edit: You can order the Beyer pads at Beyer at 1-800-293-4463 for about $26 including shipping, if anyone wants to know.

Hi all, I'm about to call Beyer to order the pads to replace the battered ones on my V6's. But which specific pads to order? ... or are there just generic Beyer replacement ones?

I read in a V6 thread somewhere else to order the pads for Beyer 250's... to fit the V6. can anyone confirm or deny this?

Thanks!

AA used his dt250 pads on his 7506s, so if the v7506 is the exact same thing as the v6, they should work just fine.

Yes, they are the replacement pads for the DT250. Can't recall the part number, but they should be able to figure it out for you on the phone.
