Hi, I know there's a long 600s thread but I can't find a post so far comparing them to an open cups. I got the 600s recently as a gift and vastly prefer how light on my head they are. But they sound so neutral, its hard to adjust.

I know the MMX 300s are for gaming/music and have a great mic. I just wanted to know what anyone thought on this. Since if the 600s really work I could plausibly just return the 300s...

I do a lot of gaming and a decent amount of music. But ultimately, I want to know the purpose of the 600s vs 300s and why one trumps the other?

Thanks!

What are you using to drive the Sennheiser HD600 headphones?

  Fiio E10k

I guess technically the E10K can drive the 300-Ohm HD600.
(Like a 4 cyl engine can move a Corvette)
But chances are the E10k is not powerful enough to drive the HD600 to their best.
Might try getting a Bravo Ocean hybrid headphone amplifier and plug the Bravo into the E10K's line-output jack.

Not 100% clear on what your looking for and why?

The MMX300 and HD600 are more different, then one trumping over the other.

The MMX300 is really a 32-Ohm version of the Beyer DT770.
Should be at least a little better for surround sound gaming, then the HD600.

Where as the HD600 should be better musically.

I get that. That's on the box. I wanted to know the specifics of what MADE THEM better.

Sorry for not being completely clear.

Well looking up the spec for the E10K, the max recommended impedance is 150 ohm, so the amp is going to drive the MMX300 better than the Senn for a start, before you get in to the headphone construction.

For gaming, the closed construction of the MMX300 will probably deliver better results than the open backed Senn, as the Senn will allow through ambient noise, whereas the MMX300 will immerse you in the audio, so better for hearing the location of sounds during gaming. I tend to not use my HD 600 for gaming.

That's about all I can offer you.
