i recently got a dt531 off the forums here with one bad driver.i intended to replace the one driver, but when i finally got around to it, i tested the headphone, and now the other driver is acting up! (the 1st driver was melted and hopeless)
a week ago i got a cheap ebay koss ktxpro. these use the same drivers as a portapro but in a cheap plastic frame. i'm sure u see where this is going. the koss drivers slipped right in, the whole process taking maybe 20 minutes
sound is nice, smoother and bigger soundstage than the koss housing, no hi end sharpness. kind of 'beyer-ish' refinement onto the koss sound
