Just got shot of the HD650 again. Not my cup of tea. DT531 is still more entertaining. The DT531 is not as good in detail or refinement, but it sure is still more fun to listen to.

Taking nothing away from the HD650, its a great headphone, and for most, quite probably better... but for the slight lackings, the 531 is still the daddy!

Sorry for the short and pointless post... clearly not the headfi way, but I just thought I should sum up with my conclusions....

BTW, the A.N.T. Amber rocks!!!

Have you heard the 0404 PinkFloyd? It certainly isn't crap, I think you are exaggerating a bit. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better source for $100. Also, what are you comparing it to? I'm sure it could be considered crap if you are pitting it against $5,000+ sources...

And Paul, I still think you should have your 0404 modded

Haha Mike, maybe it is, but I dont really care, it sounds great to me with the DT531, and it did too with the HD650... its the general signature of it i will never care for particularly, just not bright and fast enough... and whatever source I may end up with in the future, the HD650 is never gonna be my fave

A better source is not going to change the sound of a headphone so drastically that pbirkett is going to start liking the 650s, especially for the reasons he suggested.
