I recently contacted BeyerDynamic about the possibility of a straight cable. They do have one and you can order through them. Here is the email response from Beyer:

Part number 431575 will work with the DT 250, however, please be advised that this is a “free ended” cable with no connector on the end. A connector would have to be wired up to use the cable. At this time we do not offer a straight cable with connector for the DT 250.

You can place a parts order using the attached form. Simply fill out the form and return via email or fax to 631 293 3288.
Please see below for pricing and availability details.
431575 $38.90, plus $7.00 shipping and handling. Currently in stock.
Let me know if any questions.

The form is too large for me to post(or I don't have enough privileges) So I can email whoever is interested. kayaker3057@yahoo.com

Good info, it has been mentioned in other threads I looked it up a year or two ago. It isn't mentioned all that often as not many people do it (~$45 plus a DIY connector is a bit much for a somewhat minor niggle).

From time to time BH photo has premade ones (the same part with a 1/4" jack installed already) but they charge close to $70 for it.

At that price why the hell would you not just DIY a cable...

Well, I am very new to the headphone scene. How would one go about getting one made DIY? I do not have any experience soldering. Would it be higher quality to have one made and would it be any cheaper? Thanks!

The *only* problem with DIYing this is the six-pin socket that is Beyer's proprietary design. It fits DT100/150/280/480s, but I haven't got a clue what it's part number is. My single constructive idea has been to try to get someone to take one of this six-pin yokies off a curly cord to install on a new cord.
