Beyer DT250/80 vs DT250/250 + Headsave Vibe?

I'm saving for the 250-80 right now, and am choosing it over the 250-250. My reasoning is that:

1. I am not a huge fan of highs, and the 250-80 is known for its rolled off highs.
2. It is easier to drive, so I can use it both at home and as a portable, if I need isolation on the go.

Seems to be the more versatile of the two.

I love the DT250-250. It is a wonderful sounding headphone with serious bass capability and a balanced response. It is one of the few headphones that I listen to unequalized (Ety ER4S is the other). Highly recommended (I am not parting with mine).

I don't care for the DT250-80 at all. It has muddy bass and nonuniform response. It is only very slightly easier to drive than the DT250-80. I would advise against them.

A couple of cautions: the DT250 are too small for some ears, and they are not super isolating.

edit: I can't vouch for the other players, but an ipod will drive the DT250-250 plenty loud for me.

I've never heard the DT250-80 but have owned the DT250-250 for about a year now. I think they sound a lot like the Senns HD 580, 600, 650. They're not the same and I like my 650's better but the two phones are more alike then different. They don't provide a ton of isolation but don't leak to much. If you get these, you will need an amp. They do most things right and really don't have any obvious flaws.

If you have a big head, these might not work. I have to extend the headband to the ends of their extension for them to be comfortable for me.

"...if the Zen wont be able to drive it, I guess I'll just get an amp"

Spoken like a true Head-Fier!
