So I just received my 250-80's last week and am impressed with them listening on my Ipod and Little More Power. Now, I am wondering if I would be better off with the DT250-250's. I have Etys for my portable use and plan on using the Beyers in my office cube on the Headroom amp 95% of the time. Should I exchange for the 250-250's?

Thanks,

Ouf, it is going to be tough to find someone who has both of these. I would recommend the DT250-250 if you are going to use an amp. otoh I use my DT250-250 with the ipod and no amp on a daily basis, and I like it! If I were to go to the trouble of an amp at work (and I may yet) I would also pick a better source.

Buy both and send back the one that you don't like is an option. The risk, of course, is that you will keep both.

Thanks Greg,

I've been following the Ipod threads so I know you drive the 250 alone, I bought the 250-80 from Headroom so I may just follow your advice and order the 250-250 and send back the one I like the least.

Well, I still have both - and I'd still chose the DT250/250, because it sounds more neutral to me. The 250/80 is a little more efficient and has a little more pronounced mid-range, but the highs just seem too recessed for my taste.

Greetings from Munich!
