Hi all, I'm a newbie on here and to good quality headphones... my dilemma is which of Beyer DT1770 PRO or DT1990 PRO to go for.  There is £50 price difference (1990s more pricey).  I had a pair of Grado SR325e and liked them but they were uncomfortable so I sent them back.

I understand the difference between open and closed back in terms of soundstage, though I have read reviews that the 1770s have a pretty wide stage for closed cans.

Can anyone elaborate and tell me what I will / wont be getting if I choose one over the other ?

Many thanks in anticipation.

I own about 7 Beyer headphone models (DT770, DT880, DT990, T70, T90).
I'm guessing the T70 & DT1770 are somewhat a like and the DT1990 & T90 are somewhat a like.

I prefer the T90 over the T70, so I'm guess the DT1990 is preferable over the DT1770.

Thanks for that, Im really after hearing from people who actually have the specific ones I mentioned, as although its fair enough to assume a numbering system follows, its not always the case.  Some of the youtube reviews Ive seen allude to that.  But I wanted to ask on here as I am sure there are plenty of people who know first hand :)  I appreciate your input though.

Appreciate the suggestion, I have looked at those and don't like the design (which is important at this price point, or I would have kept the Grado's).  Cheers.
