beyer 120ohm adapter ?

hello
after reading through numerous posts referencing the 120ohm adapter for low impedance beyers, i still don't know exactly what form this thing takes. is it a special jack you plug the headphones into? is it an adapter you place over the headphone plug before plugging them into the hadphone jack. what exactly is it?

Some amps come with a 120 Ohm headphone jack. Most amps don't. If it doesn't you will have to use a special adapter that fits between your headphone and amplifier. It would resemble to something like a jack convertor. Inside the adapter is a 120 ohm resistor.
