Getting to be less of a n00b now and have a specific need. My sources are Laptop (X-Fi), iPod Touch, and my files are Apple Lossless or m4a format... anyways...

I've got the Sennheiser HD-380 Pro which I dig a lot. It has a veiled sound, good sub bass, fairly forgiving, etc. Recently picked up the Beyerdynamic T70p which has blown my mind. I've never heard anything so sensitive and dynamic. They aren't forgiving at all. In fact if the mix isn't perfect or your source isn't perfect, you'll hear hiss or it can be too bright, ear fatigue, etc.

So what I am looking for is recommendations on something in between them. Any brand will do. Full size, isolating, closed back. $600 or under. 80 Ohm or under. More forgiving than the T70p, but more dynamic and "HiFi" than the veiled 380 Pro's. I like a neutral, reference sound. In a perfect world I would buy an over-the-ear version of the Beyerdynamic DT-1350, but those don't exist.

Thanks in advance for your help, and all your previous answers as well. This forum is a godsend to someone new like me!
