im just curious, what headphone is a definite step up from the much loved pk3 and px100 off the source (ipod etc) internal amp?

i love the way my i pod shuffle and sennheiser hd280pro sound.(very clean and plenty loud for me) and no need for an amp = simple.

but sometimes its just too much isolation.

i have pk3s in the mail on the way to me, but this site has me wondering if there is a phone that is a definite step up from the pks / px100 on source amp only?

is there anything?

An RS-1 will be better, and its low impedance, so you could run it straight from source

The more wallet-friendly SR225 or HF-1 would likely be better, as well.
